Concept of maxima and minima of function

We may know about the classical optimization problem. Differential calculus is use to solve the classical optimization problem in order to locate the maximum value and minimum value of a function. Maxima of a function: Maxima is a highest point of a function where other point of the function is as not as high as this. Minima of a function: Minima is a lowest point of a function where the other point of the function is as not low as this. Example of maxima and minima of function: The most common example of maxima and minima of a function is the wave of ocean. In this caae the peak is considered as maxima and the velley is considered minima. Another example is hill structure. The top peak of the hill is maxima.
